Angielski i kreskówki

Kreskówki to jeden z lepszych sposobów na nauczenie dzieci i młodzież języka angielskiego. Jest to idealne połączenie przyjemnego z pożytecznym: dziecko uczy się akcentu, słownictwa oraz kultury danego kraju, a w tym samym czasie relaksuje się przy ulubionym filmie animowanym. Oczywiście nie wszystkie kreskówki są odpowiednie dla dzieci, musimy wybierać takie, w których nie ma przemocy i które niosą pozytywne przesłania moralne oraz uczą odpowiednich zachowań. 

Teacher's perspective

A year ago I wrote an article on different roles a teacher plays. The roles mentioned were: didactic, pedagogic, custodial, mentorial and leading. It was my own opinion an a teaching profession. Today, I’d like to focus on a synthesis of those roles into one cathegory. 

How to learn English through writing?

Writing is the last skill to be develop as far as learning a foreign language is concerned. To be able to write properly, you have to know both grammar and vocabulary, which are to be learnt by listening, readning and speaking, as well as certain theoretical rules. 

How to learn English through reading?

Reading gives you an insight into thinking. While reading in a foreign language you are transferred into another world, you discover different mentalities and explore different perspectives. Reading not only enriches your vocabulary and the use of structures, but it provokes your thinking in a foreign language as well. 

How to learn English through speaking?

In a Total Physical Response Method speaking is a reaction to what we listen to. A child repeats the words or phrases given and imitates the speech he/she hears. In that way one learns pronunciation, intonationand an appropriate pace of a given language. Besides, one automatically remembers the structures and phrases that are suitable for a specific context and is able to use them later by just „feeling” that they suit a certain situation. 

How to learn English through listening?

Listening comprehension is the first skill one acquires while learning a foreign language (and a mother tongue as well). It is the starting point of your foreign journey. To speak more fluently, to enrich one’s vocabulary, one has to listen to a language. Through listening to the speech, one learns how to react and use certain phrases in specific situation. 

Professional English/Angielski zawodowy

Czy każdy zna dzisiaj angielski? Gdyby przeprowadzić tego typu badania, dowiedzielibyśmy się zapewne, że większość w szczególności młodych Polaków umie posługiwać się tym językiem. Pytanie tylko w jakim stopniu i w jakiej tematyce? Podstawą nauczania w szkołach jest język angielski ogólny – General English, ale tak naprawdę dopiero wtedy jesteśmy specjalistami w danej dziedzinie, kiedy umiemy posługiwać się językiem specjalistycznym dostosowanym do naszego zawodu lub branży.
